WEAD (Women Eco Artists Dialog) is currently calling for anyone who feels up to the task of fundraising. This money will be put to good use by improving on their current activities and fund even more opportunities. These opportunities will benefit not only artists, but anyone who cares about the state of the world. As they so elegantly put it on their profile, “‘Earth’ without ‘art’ is just ‘eh'”. But that sentence hardly touches on their actions.
Who Is WEAD?
WEAD calls themselves this:
“a pioneering network of feminist eco-artists, educators, curators, and writers working toward the goal of a just and healthy world.”
They believe in the power of art and networking in order to reach a common goal. This common goal is purely to create a better (or sane) world. Their attention falls on the woman’s perspective to gather a better understanding about “environmental and social justice art”. By networking worldwide, it enables an understanding across the usual constrains of cultures and beliefs. Instead of being boxed in by these constraints, they break through to bring thoughts and (repressed) people together.
Further their magazine, WEAD Magazine, will not only educate but open your eyes to new things. You can see their magazine here. For more information on WEAD, you can visit their website. Here you can also become a member and be a part of the networking! If you share their passion to make a difference through action and networking, you can donate to their cause on Crowdrise.
