Soil, Soul, Society Seminar: Upcoming Event on Cape Town’s Water Threatening Development

posted in: Events | 0

There are a few local areas that suffered when development was placed in a higher priority than the environment.

The Soil, Soul, Society Seminar is a chance for anyone who wants answers or would like to join an open discussion regarding unfettered development in Cape Town. This upcoming event is hosted by Southern African Faith Communities’ Environment Institute (SAFCEI) who brings a panel of experts to illustrate the potential harm.

Be Informed and Aware

Since water is already a scarcity, it is important to understand what the unfettered development can hold in for all involved. As Capetonians, you have a chance to be informed through a three step program. Not only will you learn from previous events, but you can enjoy a Question and Answer session together with an open discussion.

The panel of experts will use previous examples of developmental effects. There are a few local areas that suffered when development was placed in a higher priority than the environment. These areas are not limited to Princess Vlei, Philippi Horticultural Area and Kenilworth Racecourse.

However, this event is also targeting the question “What can we do as Capetonians?” There is more to this seminar than what will happen, but rather what can be done to stop the bad effects.
