Curated by Adele van Heerden

Botanical art refers to the depiction of the form, colour and details of plant species, often with scientific accuracy along with an artistic component. Artists invited to participate in Botanica were asked by the curator to challenge their traditional understanding of Botanical Art, while incorporating unconventional techniques.

Viewers can look forward to seeing a wide variety of media, from stitching, embroidery and fibre arts to ceramic, sculpture, assemblage, collage, painting, printmaking and drawing.

Participating artists include:
Michele Rolstone, Isabella Kuijers, Kali van der Merwe, Caitlin Mkhasibe, Kate Arthur, Helen van Stolk, Katharine Meeding, Benita Terblanche, Sally Arnold, Emily Jane Long, Juhlene Moller, Pascale Chandler, Antoinette Hampton, Karen Wykerd, Ashley-May Wood, Lena Sulik, Zelda Weber, Diane Mclean, Adele van Heerden, Jolandi Coetzee and Judy Woodborne.
